End of the Back To Basics Blog: Final Q&A

I started this blog to show people what it would be like to take the “plunge” into a poker career, as well as fix some bad habits I had in my professional attitude. In the 6 months that I have been writing here I think I’ve accomplished both those goals. While striving to be the best professional poker player possible will be a never ending goal, I think the scope of what I wanted to cover in the project has run its course. So, before this blog jumps the shark I have decided that I am going to put the Back to Basics blog to rest. I have never been a huge fan of results based poker blogging, but with Back to Basics I had a slightly different take on the results blog that has allowed it to stay interesting. Now that I have accomplished everything I wanted it’s time for me to move on to other things

Even though this project is now over I will still continue blogging. The new format will be something that I think will be more enjoyable to both read and write. With the way this blog was set up each post was almost an article, and it needed to be like that for me to get my lessons across. In my new, still unnamed, blog I’ll keep it much lighter writing about the poker lifestyle, my random thoughts, probably a few rants, and plenty of poker nuggets.

I am going to keep this blog up as a reference for anyone looking to become an online pro poker player. The final post will be a “best of” where I will link to some of the best posts from the project. If anyone has suggestions on those please let me know. I would also like to take this opportunity to answer any questions you guys have left on the subject. This will pretty much be anything goes so post any comments and questions you have. I will make sure to post a link here to the new blog once it is up, so you can continue to check here for a while. It’s been a fun 6 months and I hope everyone came away with something positive from this blog.
