Don't Be That Guy

I was going to take Monday off to do some website work and other errands, but I finished everything early so I decided to get a session in (I just can't stay away from poker!). I still feel like I'm in a pretty bad run of cards, but that isn't an excuse to go and lose, so I ended up winning $119 (and $20 in bonus) in 1270 hands. The only really "interesting" part of the session was some bad beats, that I'm not going to bore you with. As a pro you should get in the habit of not telling bad beat stories. First of all, nobody cares. The need to constantly tell bad beat stories is a terrible habit that leads to a losing mindset. When you learn to swallow the stories you begin to realize that the beats don't matter in the long run. One good way to lose the attention, and respect, of your poker buddies is always being the guy who has another bad beat story to tell.
